Senior Program Officer

Katherine Freshley serves as the senior program officer, providing leadership and management coordination for the Meyer Foundation's grantmaking team. As one of Meyer's five program officers, she specializes in arts, heritage, and culture, and health and mental health grantmaking. Before joining the Foundation, she served as executive director of the Arlington Arts Center, and as head librarian for the Textile Museum. In addition, she was the founding supervisor of the Chicago Public Library's Reading and Study Centers, five libraries located in public housing complexes providing literacy and educational programs for children and adults. Ms. Freshley serves as co-chair of the arts and humanities and is a member of the health working groups of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers, is on the steering committee of the Washington AIDS Partnership, and is a member of the steering committee for the Creative Communities Initiative lead by the Community Foundation of the National Capital Region.
