Investing in Effective Organizations

Because of our track record and knowledge of community-based organizations in our region, Meyer often serves as a resource to other donors who want to make strategic philanthropic investments in the region. Through its selective and highly competitive grantmaking, the Meyer Foundation supports some of the most innovative and effective small and mid-sized organizations working to address local needs in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

All grant requests are reviewed by the Foundation's program staff, who have expertise in their program areas, knowledge of the broader community, and insight into the characteristics that distinguish effective organizations.

Many grantees receive support through Meyer's Management Assistance Program, allowing them to engage in strategic planning, strenthen their financial management, build stronger boards, hire executive coaches for key leaders, and strengthen their organizations in other ways.
